"3rd International Festival of the Sea" – THALASSODROMIES
Wednesday, 5 August at the Ierapetra Seafront.
A unique sporting event dedicated to the sea, swimming, and the joy of participation. Children, young people, and adults come together to compete in a variety of swimming distances and strokes, celebrating fair play, teamwork, and a shared passion for sport.
17:40–18:00
• 25 m swimming (freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke)
for children born in 2016 and 2017.
18:00–18:30
• 50 m swimming (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly)
for children born in 2014 and 2015.
• 4 × 50 m mixed relay.
18:30–18:50
• 100 m freestyle for participants born in 2013 or earlier.
• 100 m freestyle for adults.
19:00–19:20
• 400 m freestyle for adults.
The day concludes with the message that the sea is not only a place for sport, but also a source of life, joy, freedom, and togetherness. Through the participation of children and adults alike, the 3rd International Festival of the Sea promotes the values of fair play, teamwork, and respect for the marine environment.
