(Cindy) Zixin Zhang is an artist, filmmaker, and screenwriter from Beijing, China, who is a current graduate at American Film Institute. She graduated from the MFA in Documentary Media program at Northwestern University and she has a BFA degree in the School of Art Institute of Chicago with focuses in Film, Painting, and Sculpture as a merit scholarship recipient. Her exhibitions about film, painting, and sculpture installations have been seen across the world, including the United States, Spain, China, India, and Russian, etc. She is interested in making nonfiction and narrative films that reveal truth, challenge bias, and uncover underrepresented stories. While feeding her lifelong curiosity about film and media, she believes she can make films while challenging boundaries and provoking changes.
