Movie Story
The roots of the custom of "rogatsaria" are found in ancient Greece. At that time the "little Dionysians" were celebrated by the ancient Greeks. In the course of time they evolved and during the Turkish occupation the enslaved Greeks managed through the custom to collect money and various items passing messages of the liberation struggle and the Christian faith. Symbolic persons are the bride, the tsoliades, the doctor, the priest, the bear, the bear, etc. In Neochori, on the eve of the Epiphany, young and old are organized in "bunches", wearing sheepskin, masks and uniforms. The participants say the carols, different and praiseworthy for everyone, depending on age, family, social and economic status, with a sense of satire. On the evening of January 6 follows the traditional feast "ziafeti" with guests all the villagers and participants in the custom. The culmination takes place on January 7 in the churchyard, after the Divine Liturgy, with a traditional orchestra and is open to all visitors.
